Ethnic outreach: Donate life

poshnicki's blog

How would you feel if your OWN ETHNICITY is decreasing rapidly as a result of a cause that can be reduced by YOU & I?

Selfishness, awareness, uninformed, and maybe not caring, can lead to why millions of people die in a year as a result of lack of organ transfer.

Life is a gift that many people cherish, but what makes life amazing is being able to safe life.

Millions of people die as a result of waiting for organs donation, studies have shown that majority of people who don’t contribute as organ donors fall into the ethnic group as a result of various reasons. There are factors that we can’t control such as natural death, but we can control death that arises from illness through availability of treatment provided.  Being an organ donor, you can give to save life, what most people are unaware is the fact that being a registered donor can increase the likelihood of receiving organ if needed. The best thing about this awareness is that they are not asking for money, but for you  to register as an organ donor today.

Why minorities?

Minorities are not only majority of people who don’t contribute to organ donation, but are also majority of people whose deaths are associated to lack of organs available to match. Some of you might question this, how?  Fact is “people are genetically more like people of their own ethnicity or race than to people of other races.” So with few ethnic donors, it is hard to find matches for different ethnic people and this contributes to an increase in death rate and longer waiting list for minorities. A lot of Donate Life organizations seek to change this aspect by creating increased awareness of this campaign especially to minorities. Here are some various links you can visit to make that change:

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN ONE LIFE!
